Hi and welcome to this JK NEWS B'HAM Crime Report for VPN: REGIONAL NETWORKS:

A 27-year-old woman who died following a stabbing at Bescot Stadium railway station on Sunday, October 20, has been named by police as Rhiannon Skye Whyte.

Rhiannon was found with stab wounds after police were called to reports of a serious assault just after 11:25pm. She was taken to hospital, where she sadly passed away on October 23 with her family by her side.

Her family has released an emotional tribute, describing her as their “most loved daughter, compassionate sister, loving aunty, gracious granddaughter, beautiful niece, wonderful cousin, and devoted friend.”

Deng Cholmajek, 18, of Bescot Crescent, Walsall, has been charged with attempted murder, though detectives will now seek to upgrade the charge to murder following Rhiannon’s death. He remains in custody and is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on November 19.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell, the senior investigating officer from British Transport Police, said: “We have specialist family liaison officers supporting the victim’s family, and our thoughts remain with them at this incredibly difficult time. I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident, and an 18-year-old man has now been charged and remanded in connection. We are not seeking anyone else.”

The police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact British Transport Police on 0800 405040 or to text 61016, quoting reference 11 of October 20.

This investigation remains ongoing, with further updates expected after the court proceedings in November. We will keep you informed of all future developments.

Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
