Hi and welcome to this JK News Birmingham Update :

Three men have been sentenced to nearly three decades in prison for orchestrating a savage and brazen machete attack on a group of individuals at Palfrey Park in Walsall. The incident, which unfolded on May 1, 2023, left three victims with severe slash injuries.

Awais Butt and Adam Sidat, both 20 years old, and 18-year-old Fida Butt, all initially pleaded not guilty to charges of wounding and additionally, for Sidat and A. Butt, possession of a machete. However, following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, all three were found guilty and subsequently sentenced last Tuesday.

The assailants, armed with machetes and knives, confronted a group of men in the park during broad daylight. Sidat initiated the altercation by accusing one of the men of theft before brandishing a menacing 15-inch curved machete. In a terrifying escalation, Awais and Fida Butt also produced knives, leading to a brutal assault that left multiple victims with slash wounds.

Following the attack, the perpetrators fled the scene, their movements captured on CCTV cameras. Law enforcement officials swiftly utilized the footage to track the assailants' path, leading to their apprehension on May 4. An identity parade further solidified the evidence, with all three victims identifying Sidat as one of the attackers, and Awais Butt being singled out as well.

DC Simon Pritchard, the investigating officer at Walsall CID, condemned the violence as a "savage attack" and emphasized the critical role of CCTV in identifying the perpetrators. He underscored the seriousness of the crime, asserting that the sentences send a clear message that the possession and use of weapons, including machetes and knives, will not be tolerated on the streets of Walsall.

Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
