Hi, and Welcome to this video Production News update:

A vile predator who targeted children has been jailed for ten years having being found guilty of multiple counts of historic child sex offences. The incidents took place over 20 years, and Tahir Mahmood, 64, of Wentworth Road, Southall, thought he had got away with it.
But he was stopped in his tracks when brave victim-survivors came forward. Mahmood was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday (December 4) for ten counts of indecent assault on a male, four counts of indecency with a child and one of sexual assault between 1984 and 2004.
He also received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Throughout the trial, Mahmood maintained his innocence when accused of the assaults against the three victim-survivors, who were all children at the time of the offences.
"A despicable predator unfit for society."
Detective Sergeant Mitesh Mulji, leading the investigation, remarked, "Mahmood is a despicable predator unsuitable for society. He thought he had escaped accountability, enjoying freedom for over 30 years. This case underscores that no matter the passage of time, we will exhaust all efforts to ensure predators face justice."
"These three individuals, once victims as children, have endured the impact of this abuse for an extensive period. I wish to commend them for their remarkable resilience and bravery throughout this prolonged investigation and for their testimony in court.
"I implore anyone who has suffered at the hands of Mahmood to reach out to the authorities. We stand ready to provide support."
Throughout the two-week trial, the court heard evidence detailing Mahmood's sexual assaults on three young boys spanning two decades. In September 2018, a report was filed with the police outlining Mahmood's repeated abuse of a child, known to him, between 1984 and 1991.
The victim-survivor who was aged between 10 and 17 years old at the time, was subjected to numerous severe sexual assaults after Mahmood became a friend of his family. He took the victim out alone in his vehicle to secluded areas in Southall and Hounslow to abuse him.
Over time, he manipulated the victim by offering meals and lavish gifts. Additionally, he resorted to threatening self-harm if the victim disclosed the abuse.
Subsequently, a specialized investigation led to the identification of two additional victim-survivors. The second victim-survivor, aged between nine and 13, faced repeated sexual assaults. Mahmood would take him alone to areas in Southall and Hounslow. The third victim-survivor endured a sexual assault in 2004 at the age of 16.
Following reports to the authorities, Mahmood underwent two separate police interviews and was charged on November 19, 2021.
Claire Merrifield, a Sexual Offences Investigative Techniques Officer (SOIT) from the West Area Safeguarding team, emphasized the importance of justice for victims of crime, regardless of the time elapsed. She acknowledged the trauma associated with reporting sexual crimes and affirmed the support available for survivors.
"I strongly advise anyone in this circumstance, regardless of whether it occurred in the past or is ongoing, to contact the police. Specially trained officers are ready to provide support and assistance."
“Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.”
