Serial Sex Offender Strikes Again: Blackburn Man Guilty of Assaulting Young Woman!

A man in Blackburn awaits sentencing after being convicted of sexually assaulting a young woman.

Identified as Kamran Rashid, he committed the assault in November 2021 at a residence in Blackburn. The victim awoke to find Rashid, aged 40, in her bed, where he proceeded to engage in non-consensual sexual activity with her.

The traumatized victim fled the scene, leading to Rashid's arrest later that day. Charged with rape, Rashid pleaded guilty to sexual assault by penetration during his appearance at Preston Crown Court on April 15th.

Rashid, previously convicted of sexual offenses and registered as a sex offender, remains in custody awaiting sentencing scheduled for June 3rd.

DC Sarah Fyans from the East Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit stated, "Rashid is a dangerous individual who preyed upon a vulnerable young woman. Despite knowing his actions, he waited until the victim was set to testify before admitting guilt."

She commended the victim's courage and resilience throughout the legal proceedings, expressing hope that this case will empower other victims to come forward.
