Hi and welcome to this update from VPN's Birmingham Region Reporter, Jason King :

In sentencing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, 12th April, Fawad Hakimi received a 24-year prison sentence for sexual offences against multiple women.

The attacks by 29-year-old Hakimi took place between February and August last year.

Hakimi sexually assaulted one victim as she walked home in Wednesfield. He then went on to break into another victim's home and attempted to rape her. He was arrested shortly thereafter.

Despite claiming innocence, at trial in March, Hakimi was found guilty of rape, attempted rape, three counts of sexual assault, fraud and burglary. He was also found guilty of theft after stealing some earphones from a car he'd broken into.

West Midlands Police commended his victims for coming forward to provide witness testimony, which, combined with DNA evidence, contributed to the guilty verdict at Wolverhampton Crown Court at his trial in March.

Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
