“Mohamed Iidow Accused of Fatal Park Bench Oral Rape!”
Jurors at the Old Bailey today heard harrowing details surrounding the death of mother-of-three, Natalie Shotter, 37, who was allegedly orally raped multiple times while unconscious on a park bench in West London's Southall Park. The prosecution claims that Mohamed lidow, 35, a homeless man, carried out the brutal attack in the early hours of July 17, 2021, after spotting Ms.
Shotter, who had earlier been on a night out with friends.
Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC, addressing the court, outlined that lidow's assault led directly to Ms. Shotter's death, causing her to suffer a fatal heart attack. The court heard that lidow raped her "again and again," while she lay unconscious on the bench. "The act of rape caused her death," Morgan stated. "The defendant repeatedly raped Ms. Shotter, leading to her fatal collapse."
The court was shown CCTV footage of the moments leading up to the horrific attack. In the footage, Ms. Shotter can be seen sitting on a bench with another man. The prosecution claims that lidow walked past the pair, before leaving the park and returning later. At that point, Ms. Shotter was lying on the bench, seemingly unconscious and showing "no clear movement" for approximately 30 minutes, Morgan told the jury.
It is alleged that lidow approached her, initially pacing the area "nonchalantly," before launching the fatal assault. "What was the defendant doing there, walking up and down the paths in the middle of the night?" Morgan asked the jurors, "It is clear his objective was to find a vulnerable woman to rape."
Disturbingly, the jury was also shown CCTV footage, which allegedly shows lidow repositioning Ms. Shotter's body during the prolonged attack. Morgan told the court that Ms. Shotter was still alive during the assault, despite being unconscious.
"She was not dead at the time when the defendant was repeatedly orally raping her,"
The prosecutor said. "It is something you will have to consider - he would not have sought to have sex with a dead body for over 15 minutes. He was raping someone he knew was alive but deeply unconscious."
Ms. Shotter's body was discovered in the park early that morning by a passer-by. Forensic evidence presented in court revealed that swabs taken from Ms. Shotter's mouth matched DNA samples from lidow, directly linking him to the alleged attack.
The defence has denied the charges of rape and manslaughter, but the prosecution argues that lidow's intent and actions were clear, and that his attack caused Ms. Shotter's tragic death.
The trial, which has captured significant public attention, is set to continue, with further evidence to be heard in the coming days.
Well, that's all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I'll see you then.
