Following the attack, 22-Year-Old Ethiopian born Jalal Debella, a resident of Colindale, North-West London, was swiftly apprehended later that afternoon in his room at his hostel accommodation in Colindale. Debella appeared in court charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife. He only spoke to confirm his name and address. He was ordered to be remanded in custody until his next appearance at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
