Hi and welcome to this JK B'HAM Crime Report for VPN: REGIONAL NETWORKS:

Sikander Ali, a 33-year-old major drug dealer, has been sentenced to over 13 years in prison after his involvement in supplying cocaine was exposed through the Encrochat encrypted messaging network.

His arrest occurred in January 2023 at Birmingham Airport as he attempted to flee to Dubai.

At Birmingham Crown Court, he was sentenced to two major offences, to be served consecutively. He received nine years and six months for drug offences, and an additional four years for having a .38 handgun, which he carried while driving around Birmingham for protection.

Cocaine supplier Ali, who operated under the alias "Buckglove" on the network, was involved in the wholesale purchasing and distribution of at least 14 kilograms of cocaine in the West Midlands, with the drugs valued at around £560,000.

Evidence gathered from Ali’s messages showed him discussing the quality of his cocaine and flaunting his wealth, including posing with a Patek Philippe watch and a Mercedes G-Class SUV.

Detective Inspector Matt Marston emphasised that despite Ali’s belief that he could evade the law by using Encrochat, the investigation revealed the extent of his criminal activities and his willingness to use deadly weapons to protect himself in the criminal underworld.

The successful conviction and significant sentence demonstrate police commitment to fighting organised crime.

Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
