CHILD GROOMER HABIB-UR REHMAN JAILED FOR CHILD RAPE

HABIB-UR REHMAN, 40, of Bradford has been jailed for 14 years after grooming and repeatedly abusing a 14-year old girl.

Rehman had committed the offences of raping the child, engaging in sexual activity with the child and of attempted to incite the child to engage in sexual activity.

The judge called HABIB-UR REHMAN 'an offender of concern' and said that he would serve at least two thirds of his sentence in prison. The survivor suffered severe psychological harm, and this was influenced the judge's sentencing decision.

There were no mitigating factors to apply and the defendant had not pleaded guillty.

The girl was commended on her bravery in coming forward.
