Welcome to this Video Production New's Crime update on a recent tragic eScooter accident here in London:

In a recent tragic incident near Crossharbour DLR in Isle of Dogs, a 12-year-old girl is battling for her life following a collision involving an e-scooter and a car. The collision occurred on East Ferry Road around 9.03pm on Sunday, leaving both the young girl and a male rider with severe injuries.
Despite the swift response from paramedics and the London Ambulance Service, the girl’s injuries are deemed life-threatening, underscoring the grave consequences of illegal e-scooter usage. It’s worth noting that private e-scooters are strictly prohibited from public roads and pavements in the UK, yet their prevalence, especially in urban areas, remains a significant concern.
This tragic incident sheds light on the urgent need for stricter enforcement of existing regulations regarding e-scooter usage. The rider of the e-scooter was blatantly breaking the law by carrying a passenger, especially a vulnerable young girl, which further underscores the reckless disregard for safety and the law.
It’s imperative that authorities take decisive action to address the rampant illegal usage of e-scooters and implement more robust measures to ensure public safety. This includes stringent penalties for violators, as well as raising awareness about the inherent risks associated with e-scooter usage.
As we extend our thoughts and prayers to the young victim and her family, we must also collectively strive to prevent such tragedies from recurring by advocating for safer transportation practices and stricter enforcement of existing regulations.
Well, that’s all for now. But until my next article, please stay tuned, stay informed but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
